ROI Calculators

Does Resonance justify its cost?

Three calculators. Enter your real numbers and see how Resonance stacks up against your current setup.

01 — Contract value

Less than 10% of what your program is worth

RSP contracts typically run $100–$200 per unit per year. Resonance costs a fraction of that — enter your numbers to see.

Annual Resonance cost
Annual contract value
Resonance as % of contract
02 — Team capacity

Same team. 3x the programs.

Coordinators managing relocation with spreadsheets top out around 100 units each. With Resonance, the same person handles ~300.

03 — Break-even

How much time does Resonance need to save?

Enter your units and staff count. We'll calculate exactly how many hours per week Resonance needs to save per coordinator to pay for itself.

How we compare

Resonance vs. the alternatives

Why purpose-built software beats spreadsheets and generic tools for relocation programs.

Capability Spreadsheets + Staff Generic PM Software Resonance
Setup time Weeks to build manual systems Months of configuration Days to weeks with guided onboarding
Cost per active unit $50–$150/unit/yr (pure staff cost) $48–$120/unit/yr (but not built for relocation) $84–$180/unit/yr — includes full compliance
URA compliance built in ✗ Manual, error-prone ✗ Bolt-on at best ✓ Core to the data model
Right-to-return tracking ✗ Separate spreadsheets ✗ Not supported ✓ First-class concept
Chain-move scenario planning ✗ Whiteboard + phone calls ✗ Not supported ✓ Model in minutes
HUD audit trail ✗ Reconstructed from email ✗ Partial at best ✓ Every decision timestamped
Scales without more hiring ✗ Linear headcount growth ✗ Still needs manual work ✓ 3x capacity per coordinator
AI matching engine ✗ Manual comparison ✗ Not available ✓ Ranked matches in seconds

An active unit is any unit currently enrolled in your program — households that have been surveyed, matched, relocated, or are in any phase of active management. Units that have been closed out or archived are not counted. If a project phase ends, those units drop off your count automatically.
Yes. Units can be added at any point. The per-unit rate is calculated on your active count at the end of each billing period. If you add a new program mid-month, we prorate the unit fee for that month.
The implementation fee covers data migration (importing your existing household and unit data), workflow configuration (setting up your specific program structure in Resonance), and team onboarding (training your coordinators to be productive from day one). It's charged once per new program setup and scoped based on the complexity and size of your program. We provide a fixed scope and timeline upfront so there are no surprises.
Yes. Programs that commit to annual contracts receive a discount on both the base fee and the per-unit rate. The volume discount on the per-unit side also increases automatically as your household count grows past the 500 and 1,000 thresholds — so as your portfolio scales, your per-unit cost goes down. Talk to us about your specific situation and we'll structure something that makes sense.
No. When a program closes out, those units are archived and removed from your active count. If your total active units drop to zero, you'd only be paying the base platform fee — and we can discuss putting your account on hold or transitioning to a reduced-rate archive tier if you're between programs.
Absolutely. Most of our relationships start with a pilot — typically one program or one phase of a larger program. This gives your team a chance to see Resonance in action with real data before making a broader commitment. We'll scope a pilot proposal based on your program, including implementation support and defined success criteria.
For organizations managing 1,000+ active units across multiple programs, we structure custom pricing around your portfolio's complexity. This typically includes a negotiated per-unit rate below $7, a custom base fee, multi-program management capabilities, and dedicated account support. If you're at that scale, reach out directly and we'll put together a tailored proposal within one business day.
We work with a range of organizations including nonprofits, housing authorities, for-profit developers, and RSPs. Pricing is based on program size and complexity, not organization type. That said, we understand that nonprofits and PHAs often operate within rigid budget structures tied to HUD funding cycles, and we're happy to work with you on payment timing and structure that aligns with how your funding actually flows.
